Transferring a Call to an Extension

It's important to transfer calls with a warm transfer, rather than a cold transfer, as some callers may be sales solicitations, or they are asking for the wrong staff member.  Be sure to use a warm transfer so staff are not caught off guard when picking up the phone.  Cold transfers are no appropriate unless sending directly to the extension voicemail.

WARM TRANSFER = Announcing who is calling before sending the call through.  e.g. "Hello, I have Sally calling for you, should I transfer to you or should I send them to your voicemail?"

COLD TRANSFER = Sending a caller directly to someone's extension without announcing.

To Transfer to a Voicemail directly, Press VOICEMAIL TRANSFER button, wait for C.Tone, then press the Ext. Button or Dial the extension, and then On-hook (hang up) so the call is transfered to the extension VM.

---------------

HOW TO CANCEL A TRANSFER AFTER PRESSING THE TRANSFER BUTTON.

To cancel a transfer, press the TRANSFER button a second time.

You may need to cancel a transfer if the Warm Transfer call to the extension says the call should be redirected to to another extension.
