The Corvallis Color Pinter in Copy Room (Konica Minolta BizHub c450i)  has a feature that allows staff to send document jobs to the printer where they are held before printing.  This method is called Secure Printing, and is used to hold sensitive jobs that may contain client or employee information that must be safe guarded from curious eyes.  Jobs will wait until the user goes to the printer, puts in a document id name and password, and then releases the job for print.

HOW TO USE SECURE PRINT

STEP 1

When you're ready to print your document, you'll want to go to your print screen, select the Color Copier as the printer, and then choose Printer Properties.  Many programs are different, so here are examples of common print screens where you can find the Printer Properties button.

MICROSOFT OFFICE

FOXIT PDF READER

WINDOWS PRINT

STEP 2

On the Printer Properties screen, select the BASIC tab at the top, and on the right you will change the OUTPUT METHOD to SECURE PRINT

STEP 3

Immediately you'll see a popup screen asking to create a document ID (username) and password to secure this print job.  You can create any kind of username or password.  The document ID and password are case sensitive, so it's suggested that you only use lower case letters and numbers for the document ID and password.  Once entered, press OK to close this window and save the information.

STEP 4

You'll be returned to the previous PRINTER PROPERTIES Window.  Make any other final settings changes needed for your print job, and then press OK to save those settings and close the window..

STEP 5

Print your document.

STEP 6

When ready, go to the printer and select the SECURE PRINT button on the screen

STEP 7

Using the touch screen, enter the Document ID you created in Step 3 by pressing the buttons on the touch screen keyboard

To switch to the Password, press the button "PASSWORD" and then you can enter the password using the screen keyboard.

Once entered, press OK

STEP 8

If entered correctly, you'll automatically proceed to the next screen.

On the next screen you will see thumbnails of the documents first page.  If you have sent multiple documents, you will see all secure prints that used the same ID and Password credentials in step 3.  If you used a different password and document ID for each print job, you will need to log in with each unique login to see those documents.  It's suggested to create a simple ID and Password and use that for every job you send.

On this screen, select your print job by tapping on it so it becomes highlighted.  Then Press the PRINT button

STEP 9

On the final screen, you'll have the options to make final changes such as color, duplexing, and set finishes.

Press the START button when you're ready for the job to print.
