Issue:
Trying to work from home and cannot access the Department Drive or Public Drive using a Old Mill Center laptop.
Solution:
The laptop requires a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection to access the drive folders on the server when working from home. Look for either a traffic light or blue and white C icon in your notifications bar, lower right corner of your screen.
Traffic Light - Sophos VPN 2.1 Blue C - Sophos VPN 2.2
If the icon is missing - click on the Start Button and type SOPHOS, and launch the Sophos VPN Client
TRAFFIC LIGHT INSTRUCTIONS:
Double Clicking on the Traffic Light will prompt you for your computers login.
Enter your username: FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME
and then enter your password for the laptop.
The connection will be complete if the Traffic Light turns from Red/Yellow to a Solid Green. Once Green, you can then connect to the Drive Folders.
BLUE C INSTRUCTIONS:
Double clicking on the Blue C will open a window. You will see OMC VPN - 192.168.xx.xx connection. Press Connect.
Enter your username: FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME
and then enter your password for the laptop.
Then press Sign In
The connection will change the icon to a Green Checkmark once it has successfully connected with the Old Mill Center Server.
Once Green, you can then connect to the Drive Folders.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If you cannot locate a Sophos VPN on your laptop, it may have not been deployed. Contact your IT Manager to setup an appointment to have it installed.
Mac Users: If you are using a personal computer, such as an Apple Macbook or iMac, the Client software will be different and requires direct setup and approval. Contact your IT Manager to setup an appointment.
